Alezio Rosso Riserva DOC is produced in a small area around the city of Alezio, situated east of Gallipoli. The grapes are the same as for Alezio Rosso DOC, which means Negroamaro (80-100%), Malvasia Nera di Lecce and/or Sangiovese and/or Montepulciano grapes (0-20%),
The red wine has a dark ruby red color, which turns to brick red as it matures. It has a vinous and ethereal flavor with a rich bouquet, providing a dry, warm experience with balanced tannins and a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. Rich in color and body, Alezio Rosso Riserva DOC is suitable for storage.
The wine requires a legal minimum of 2 years of aging and may have a useful drinking life of 6 years or more.
Best served with red meat and venison.
That Italy in 2011 was the worlds largest wine producer?
