Alezio Rosso DOC is made of Negroamaro (80-100%) and Malvasia Nera di Lecce, and/or Sangiovese, and/or Montepulciano grapes (0-20%), in a small area round Alezio city, east of Gallipoli.
The red wine is ruby red in adolescence and turns brick red as it matures. The young wine is vinous and ethereal in taste, and as it gets older, it acquires a rich bouquet. The wine offers a dry, warm experience with balanced tannins and a pleasant, slightly bitter aftertaste. Rich in color and body, the wine is suitable for storage.
There is also an aged Alezio Rosso Riserva DOC and an Alezio Rosato DOC based on the same grapes.
