Located northeast of Trieste, Carso Terrano DOC is, in fact, a subzone of Carso DOC, covering the municipalities of Auriseina, Monrupio, Sconico, as well as parts of Trieste.
Carso Terrani DOC is also known as Terrano del Carso DOC, but the wine can bear that name only if it is grown in that area.
This red wine is an inviting product of the Terrano grape (85-100%), to which may be added local red grapes (0-15%).
The wine has an intense ruby red color, a vinous, distinctive scent, and a rich and balanced taste, with hints of berries.
Depending on the vintage, Carso Terrano DOC matures after 3-6 years of aging.
