This golden wine's sweetish and sweet versions go well with most desserts, but it's also available as a dry wine. With its 17% alcohol concentration, this Marsala Fine DOC is also called Italy Particular (IP), even though this title is rarely seen.

Marsala Fine is produced from a grape mixture that uses more ’cotto’ (sweet wine and wine alcohol, ’aqua vitae’) than ’sifone’ (cooked down, concentrated must). The latter type often has a higher quality than the conventional, reinforced wines.

The mandatory aging period is 1 year, of which 8 months must be in an oak barrel.
