The barrel aged red wine, Terre dell’Alta Val d’Agri Rosso Riserva DOC, is produced on the same grapes varieties as Terre dell'Alta Val d'Agri Rosso DOC, meaning the classic grapes Merlot (minimum 50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (minimum 30%), with the permitted addition of up to 20% other local, non-aromatic red grapes.
The color of the wine is more or less dark ruby red, which turns to garnet red with age. The scent is inviting and fruity, with a harmonious, full-bodied and rounded taste, characteristic of the grapes.
Terre dell'Alta Val d'Agri Rosso Riserva DOC is aged for 2 years starting with November 1st of the harvesting year. A minimum of 6 months in wooden barrels is required.
