Etna Rosso is a red wine made from two types of Nerello grapes, Nerello Mascalese (min. 80%) and Nerello Mantellato, also called Nerello Cappuccio, (max. 20%). The latter grape assists in giving the otherwise pale red wine a little bit of color in its cheeks.
The wine is ruby red and acquires a granite streak with age. The aroma is intensely grape and berry-like and characteristic for this type. The taste is warm, robust, full and well-balanced. A fresh, light acidic wine with a typical minerality originating from the volcanic underground.
There is also a Etna Rosato made from the same grapes.
