Alghero Rosso is a ruby red wine which turns to garnet red with age. The taste is dry, rich, slightly tannic.
The wine is made from local red grapes, as they are approved by the Sassari province wine authorities, meaning, inter alia, Sangiovese, Cagnulari, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenere or a mixture of all these.
A sparkling type, Alghero Spumante Rosso, is also available, with 12% alcohol content.
