This is a less demanding and less labor intensive method of production of sparkling wines, which undergo a second procedure in a closed pressure tank system (autoclave). The method is also called "m" but in Italy, it is typically the "Metodo italiano" or "metodo martinotti". Finally, bottled wine is bottled under pressure. The method gives small fine bubbles but an aroma less complex as "metodo Classico", "champagne method" or "méthode champenoise", which in turn is significantly more expensive and labor intensive.
Examples of wines produced through "Metodo Martinotti" is Asti Spumante DOCG from Piedmont and most types Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOC from Veneto .
