Around the city of Pachino, a red wine is cultivated that has taken its name from the city and the sub-zone in Eloro. The wine is named Eloro Pachino and is made from the grape Nero d’Avola (90-100%), with permission to supplement with Frappato and/or Pignatello (0-10%).
The result is an intense, granite red or ruby red wine, which acquires a more brick red color after a few years. The aroma is intense, generous and slightly musky in the bouquet. The taste is exceptionally full, tannin-rich and robust, but still with a soft aftertaste.
Goes well with lamb.
There is also a Eloro Pachino Riserva.
