Alcamo Spumante is a sparkling white wine based on the same grape as Alcamo Bianco, so one or more varieties of the grape Catarratto (minimum 60%), together with an exotic blend of local and international grapes. It is Ansonica and/or Insolia and/or Grillo and/or Grecanico and/or Chardonnay and/or Müller Thurgau and/or Sauvignon (maximum 40%). Finally up to 20% of other local grapes can also be added.
Alcamo Spumante (Spumante d'Alcamo), has a fine and lasting froth. The aroma is intense, fruity and harmonic, and the taste is dry or semi-dry, fresh and balanced.
The pressure in the bottle is either a result of natural fermentation, Metodo Classico, or from the so-called Martinotti method, where the wine ferments in special pressure tanks and is bottled under pressure.
