Alcamo Bianco, or Bianco d'Alcamo, is a white wine that is grown in a large area in the western part of Sicily (Sicilia) around the city with the same name, Alcamo.
This is a light, straw-green wine with a neutral aroma. It's rather dry, but will still come across as pleasantly mellow. All in all a fresh and balanced white wine.
The wine is based on one or several of the Catarratto grape (minimum 60%), together with an exotic blend of local and international grapes, Ansonica and/or Insolia and/or Grillo and/or Gracanico and/or Chardonnay and/or Müller Thurgau and/or Sauvignon (maximum 40%). Finally, up to 20% of other local grapes can also be added.
The aroma is vinous and intense, fruity and harmonious, while the taste is, as stated, dry and balanced. The minimum alcohol concentration is 11%.
