Semi sparkling wine, where the second fermentation takes place in special pressurized tanks. Following the formation of bubbles, the wine is bottled. The Frizzante type has a pressure of about 2.5 bar, and thus approx about half the pressure of a Spumante or of champagne. See e.g. the Lambrusco wines.
