When Colli Maceratesi was elevated to DOC in 2006, it was its first opportunity to produce a red wine, namely Colli Maceratesi Rosso, until now the only one in the zone.
This Rosso is dominated by the Sangiovese grape (50-100%), along with an exotic blend of Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Ciliegiolo and/or Lacrima and/or Merlot and/or Montepulciano and/or Vernaccia Nera (0-50%), with the permitted addition of local non-aromatic grapes (0-15%).
The wine has a ruby red color and an intense, characteristic bouquet. The taste is delicate and balanced, making the wine suitable with most dishes.
A stored Riserva type is also available.
