This dessert wine is made from the same grapes as the dry white wine Colli Maceratesi Ribona , namely the local Maceracino, also known as Ribona or Montecchiese (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local white grapes (0-15%).
After being picked, the grapes are put on shelves in special drying rooms, but they can also be left on the vine, where they slightly dry before being picked and pressed.
Colli Maceratesi Ribona Passito is a more or less dark straw colored wine, with a distinctive, ethereal and intense scent of dried grapes. The taste is smooth and soft.
The mandatory aging period is 2 years, of which at least three months in barrels.
The wine pairs well with desserts.
The sparkling Colli Maceratesi Ribona Spumante is made from the same grape blend.
