Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Nero DOC is a light, not very intense ruby red wine, which turns to garnet with age. As the name suggests, it is made from Pinot Nero/Noir grapes (85-100%), with the permitted addition of local red grapes (0-15%).

Friuli Colli Orientali Rosso DOC can be produced from any red grape from the zone, and certain combinations can be quite impressive. The grape composition may consist of Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pignolo, Pinot Nero, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Schioppettino and/or Tazzalenghe.
